Riccardo Maria Monti graduated in Economics and Business from the University of Naples, with honours and the publication of his thesis. In 2007, he was appointed to the position of Treasurer in the Board of the Robert Kennedy Foundation, where he worked on projects in Eastern Europe and the Middle East.
From 1998 to 2012, he personally managed the development and internationalization of Value Partners Group. He transformed it from a small firm of 30 consultants, into the number one professional consulting multinational, which, in 2012 counted approximately 3,000 employees and 15 offices worldwide. During this period, he gained a thorough knowledge of the Italian industrial system and its development abroad (in both the traditional ‘Made in Italy’ and the cutting-edge high-tech sectors).
Mr. Monti worked with corporations and governments in over 40 countries, with particular focus on emerging markets; Latin America, Asia, the Middle East. His projects explored the fields of finance, telecoms, infrastructures and manufacturing.
During 2016 he served as Chairman of Grandi Stazioni S.p.A., where he oversaw the final phase of the company’s privatisation process; between 2016 and 2018 he was appointed Chairman of Italferr S.p.A.
