Emanuele Carpanzano is at present Director of the Department of Innovative Technologies at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland.
He is active in different federal and international associations and institutions dedicated to education, research and innovation programs and initiatives in the field of industrial engineering.
At international level he is member of CIRP (The International Academy for Production Engineering), of the High Level Group of Manufuture EU and of the partnership board of EFFRA (European Factory of the Future Research Association).
At federal level he is member of the board of directors of FTAL (Fachkonferenz Technik, Architektur und Life Sciences), of Manufuture CH and of IMA (International Maintenance Association).
He is also member of the board of ATED, an association promoting ICT in Canton Ticino.
He managed numerous research and education programs in the field of industrial automation and production engineering.
His research interests and activities are focused on industrial control and automation systems, as well as on the digitalisation of industrial systems and value chains, including evolution of related human aspects.
He is Professor of Industrial Plants at SUPSI and author of more than 140 scientific papers, as well as of different industrial patents, in his applied research fields.
