Now in its second year, the FASHION INNOVATION AWARD, powered by Loomish SA and promoted by NetComm Suisse is a Call to Innovation, aimed at gathering the brightest and most creative young businesses and start-ups, carefully evaluating and selecting them through the help of an expert jury, and finally allowing the very best to pitch to leading investment firms (including venture capital, holding companies and private equity) as well as top fashion and retail brands. The result promises to be a synergistic process of discovery and (r)evolution for all parties in the service of an improved business environment with large benefits for consumers. The initiative was launched in 2017 and returns as part of the Fashion Innovation Week event in Lugano, Switzerland.
Investors are always looking for a smart bet, especially within the digital environment; fashion brands are looking for solutions to help them manage and take advantage of the recent developments such as the e-Commerce revolution and new technologies such as AI, and finally, start-ups who are the key to these two challenges, need support and exposure to reach their potential. Enter Loomish and the Fashion Innovation Award, to bring together the diverse players and turn ideas into reality.
Scale ups and young companies currently innovating in the field of fashion & retail may now apply online at www.fashionaward.loomish.ch. The application process is open until end Feb 2019, at which point the jury will convene to make the final shortlist. The FASHION INNOVATION AWARD is open to young companies who have passed initial funding rounds or who have already created their business models and prototypes and who are working on digital and technological solutions applicable to the fashion & retail industry.
The jury contains such luminaries as Nicolas Girotto (COO, Bally), Stefano Lenzi (CEO E.Lite | Kering Group), Luca Maria Gambardella (Director, IDSIA Institute for Artificial Intelligence), Leonardo Raineri (Innovation Manager, Miroglio), Corinne Young (Director, Franklin University Switzerland), Riccardo Sciutto (CEO, Sergio Rossi) and many others of similarly high stature and experience.
The winners will gain face-to-face meetings with investors as well as their first potential big-ticket customers, the fashion and retail brands. They will also gain a support and mentoring package from Loomish as well as other benefits.
